My world in a frame
I’ve spent most of my life between the salty air of the Northern Beaches and the leafy calm of Sydney’s North Shore. I love this city—its golden light, its loud cafés, and the way it always feels like home.
I’m a quiet soul, but I seek real connection—the kind that goes deeper than small talk. I want to know what makes you laugh, what moves you, what your kids are obsessed with this week.
I met my husband, Danny, when we were just 18. It felt like we’d always known each other. He’s the steady to my dreaming, and we’ve been growing side by side ever since.
Then came Anastasia. She cracked my world wide open and became the centre of it all. My muse. My reminder that the little moments are the big ones.
In those early, hazy weeks of motherhood—exhausted but full to the brim—I picked up my camera again. Not for art. Just to remember.
And that’s what I want to give you, too.
Photos that feel like holding your baby again.
Photos that remember how your life feels.

the quieter moments
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me pottering in the garden, walking the bush trails near home, or dancing barefoot in the kitchen while something sweet bakes in the oven. I live for the little things—music playing, a good book, a quiet stretch on my yoga mat (even if it's just for five minutes).
Most mornings begin with a cup of Earl Grey and a slice of sourdough, warm from the toaster, buttered and topped with Vegemite—my small ritual before the day begins.
Our life is simple and unhurried, full of ordinary magic. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
When I’m photographing couples, I always think of Danny—the way we found each other so young, and how we’re still choosing each other every day.
And when I’m with mothers, I see it… that same all-consuming love I feel for Anastasia. It’s in the way they hold their babies, the way their eyes soften.
I guess, in a way, my work is a reflection of the life I hold closest. A quiet scattering of my own love story, out into the world—frame by frame.
Where I find magic
Inspiration lives in the in-between moments—the way light filters through curtains, the hush of a child resting on their mother’s chest, the wind catching a dress just so. I’m endlessly drawn to the softness of connection, the quiet beauty in chaos, the way love lingers in a look or a touch.
Whether it’s a scene from a film, a melody that moves me, or the way the ocean breathes in and out—I find magic where life slows down and something real is revealed.
That’s what I’m always chasing.
WHY I DO THIS
I’ve always been the one holding the camera. Quietly collecting moments, turning fleeting seconds into something that could last forever. But becoming a mother changed the way I see it all.
I began to notice how often we remove ourselves from our own story. We photograph our children, our partners, the people we love most—but forget to step into the frame ourselves. As if our presence isn’t part of the magic.
But it is.
The way you hold them. The way they look at you. The soft, unseen moments of love that thread your days together. That’s what I want to preserve.
My love for photography began in my own home, in the messy beauty of motherhood. But it’s grown into something so much bigger—a way of honouring women, families, and love in all its forms.
This is my heart work.
This is Nicole Reine Photography.
