That’s exactly what it felt like at this beautiful maternity, motherhood, and family session at Little Bay Beach. A celebration of new life, growing love, and the everyday beauty of a family simply being together — with sandy toes, heartfelt cuddles, and their loyal pup by their side.
This morning was the kind that leaves you smiling for days.
A Story of This Season, and Every Season to Come
The session was a beautiful blend of moments: part maternity, part motherhood, part family — and entirely magical. That’s the thing I love most about storytelling sessions like this. They don’t need to fit into one box. Because as mothers, we don’t live in one moment at a time. We are always stretching between the now and the next.
This mama was radiant in the early light — full of life, glowing with anticipation. But she was also grounded in the right now — laughing with her daughter, brushing windswept hair from her face, throwing the ball for their sweet family dog. The way she cradled her bump one moment and scooped up her giggling toddler the next — it was a beautiful, living portrait of what motherhood is.
And that’s exactly why we create these sessions — not to pose for perfect photos, but to live in them.
Little Bay Beach: The Softest Light, the Sweetest Memories
If you’ve never been to Little Bay at sunrise, you’re missing out on one of Sydney’s most peaceful and cinematic spots. There’s a hush that falls over the coastline just before the sun peeks above the cliffs. The sand is cool beneath your feet, and everything feels fresh — like a new beginning.
We arrived just before the light turned golden, and the family wandered down to the shoreline hand-in-hand. Wrapped in light layers and wrapped in each other, they played, cuddled, explored. I captured quiet in-between glances, squeals of laughter, and the kind of hugs that say you’re my whole world.
Even their four-legged best friend joined in, bounding through the shallows, always keeping a protective eye on his people.
